In the middle of the town of Pangnirtung stand the former St. Luke's Mission Hospital and associated church buildings, most of them clad in the drab gray shingles typical of Anglican buildings in the Arctic. The old hospital now houses the Arthur Turner Training school, where Inuit catechists from throughout the Diocese of The Arctic are trained.


Rev. Darren & Karen McCartney has returned to Ireland to complete his masters degree. Rev. Roy and Annie Bowkett have retired to southern Canada. We wish them all well in their future endeavours.

There are no students currently at ATTS. However recent graduates were made deacon by Bishop Andrew late last year and they are now ministering in parishes throughout the diocese.

Abraham Arnaqaq of Pangnirtung is now an assistant deacon at St. Luke's in Pangnirtung



Annie Ittoshat of Great Whale River is now deacon in charge of the parish of Kangirsuk.




Georgina Baldwin of Inuvik is now deacon in charge of Ulukhaktok (Holman)


Moses Kalliraq of Igloolik is now deacon in charge of St. Jame's parish of Salluit, Ivujivik & Kangiqsujuaq


Tommy Evic of Pangirtung is now deacon in charge of the parish of Igloolik & Hall Beach.
