WEDDINGS
Congratulations!  So you're getting married!

We at Holy Trinity, aim to help you make this a joyous and memorable occasion.  Even more than the events of the day, we make every effort to prepare couples for their marriage.  We do this by offering a Marriage Course which we encourage you to take.

NEXT COURSE - SPRING OF 2009 (dates, times will be announced later)

What is the marriage course all about?

The aim of the marriage course is to enable couples (whether you are already married or are thinking about getting married) to build a healthy marriage that will last a lifetime.  This course takes place over seven evenings (one night a week) and gives each couple the opportunity to talk about and discuss issues that may crop up in a relationship.  Our course is run once a year in the spring and is led by Rev Ron & Carol McLean.

This course is for any couple who wants to work together at their relationship.  The course is beneficial and enjoyable for those whose marriage is already strong.  It also helps couples who are going through difficulties and enable them to re-open communication in a guided and constructive way.  Although the course is based on Christian principles and led by Christians, it is very suitable for those with no Christian faith or church background.

Please contact Rev Ron McLean and he will gladly answer all your questions about your wedding day: revmclean@theedge.ca

BAPTISMS

The baptism of one who is not old enough to speak for him or herself is indeed a happy occasion.  Baptism is entirely appropriate for the children of Christian believers.  When you bring your child for baptism, you are making a commitment to be actively involved in teaching him or her to come to a personal and living faith in Jesus.  You are also making a commitment to participate in the life of the church.

Holy Trinity offers the sacrament of Holy Baptism to children and adults alike, approximately four times a year.

What is baptism?  Baptism is a sacrament, which means it is an outward and visible sign of God's free gift of life through Jesus Christ.
Who do I choose as sponsors?  When you are considering who you would like to be as sponsors (godparents), please remember that these are people who will be responsible for the Christian nurture of your child.  They should be active in their Christian walk, must be baptized and regular participants in their local church.
How do I prepare for baptism?  All people who are seeking baptism, must participate in a pre-baptism course.  Sponsors (Godparents) are also required to attend this course.

For further information please feel free to contact Rev Ron McLean (867-873-5949)
